Pubic Shaving for Men – Why the Common Pubic Hair Removal Methods May not Work for you

September 11, 2009  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: Brazilian

When I started my web site HairRemovalHaven.com, I was not expecting over 30% of my web site visitors to enter my site from the male pubic hair removal web pages. A lot of men are interested in learning how to remove their pubic hair but do not know how to start as most of the pubic hair removal products and services are catered mainly for women.

Let’s check out the common pubic hair removal solutions used by women to find out why they may not work for men.

Why Brazilian Waxing Could Make A Man Cry Like A Girl…

Some Brazilian waxing studios accept male customers at a higher price. Unfortunately, most men are reluctant to visit a Waxing studio as they feel extremely out of place there.

Some men will find the prospect of showing their private parts to a total stranger very embarrassing. The pulling of hair from the ultra sensitive skin of the testicles isn’t a good idea. Most women feel sore after the wax strips are removed from their pubic region for a day or two. Can you imagine if you did the same thing on a man’s testicles? I bet he wouldn’t be able to walk properly for a couple of days!

Male Electric Shavers Just Don’t Cut It

Some people recommend using an electric beard shaver to shave pubic hair. I think that’s a dumb idea because beard shavers were created for the face and they may hurt the testicles. Even if you really want to save your money and use an electric shaver on your pubic region, I really hope you won’t use the same shaving foil on your face again after it has touched all your private parts for hygiene purposes.

Say No To Razor Blades

I do know a lot of women who use their leg shavers to shave their pubic hair. Unfortunately for men, I don’t think there are any male leg shavers in the market. Even if there are such products, I wouldn’t recommend using any razor blade to remove your pubic hair. I don’ t care if your razor’s product advertisement promises you a extra smooth shave every time. Just remember these razor blades will cause all sorts of problems like pubic rashes, pubic pimples and ingrown pubic hair when you use them on your pubic area. Worst of all, if you really want to use razors on your testicles, be prepared for a “balls on fire” experience for a couple of days with all the razor burns on your testicles!

Pubic hair removal solutions for women just won’t work as well for men simply because our private parts are different. However, there are specialized pubic hair shavers that work great for both sexes. A pubic hair shaver that I personally use and recommend is the “Body Bare” shaver. All the problems associated with removing your pubic hair will be a thing of the past with this tool. If you’re still thinking about being a cheapskate by using normal shavers on your family jewels, I urge you to stop. It’s just not worth it.

Got Hair? Five Techniques for Hair Removal Down There!

September 09, 2009  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: Brazilian

With the approach of summer many women (and men) begin to think about wearing a swimsuit and all that it entails. Remember to consider your hair care down there before purchasing a new bathing suit this season. Decide what method you will use, how much hair you will remove, how much it will cost and how often you need to repeat the process.

Removing pubic hair is safe but often painful and inconvenient unless you only need a trim. Some of the hair removal procedures you may consider are waxing, Brazilian waxing, shaving, delipatories (hair removal cream) and electrolysis. You can by products or use at home or you can visit a salon and spa for hair removal.

General Waxing consists of either warm or cold wax applied to the pubic hair region and then pulled off with strips of cotton. Waxing can be extremely painful but it does allow you to control how much hair is removed. One benefit is that you will remain hair free for several weeks.

Brazilian waxing is the same procedure as above but all hair (including any on the buttocks) is removed except for a small “landing strip” of hair. Brazilian waxing is more extensive and often a great deal more painful than general waxing but it gives you the feeling of being hairless down there!

Shaving has several advantages and disadvantages. Shaving is done with a razor in the privacy of your home and gives you complete control of how much hair to remove. Shaving allows you to determine how much hair to remove and even allows you to create a design if desired. Unfortunately, shaving does not last as long but it is virtually painless if you can avoid ingrown hairs.

Delipatories are hair removers like Nair that are available at the drugstore. These products require you to apply a cream or gel, wait a certain time and then rub off your hair. Unfortunately, many delipatories don’t remove your hair if it is very coarse and the product and the rubbing can leave you with a sore, burning feeling.

Electrolysis involves a tiny and thin metal probe being slid into a hair follicle. Each hair follicle must be shocked with electricity that damages the follicle. This method is time consuming, painful, tedious and expensive but is permanent once all follicles have been destroyed.

If you do decide to visit a salon or spa for hair removal visit first before making an appointment. Make sure the location is clean and in good repair. Check to see if the aesthetician is licensed. Ask how they sterilize their supplies or if they provide a new set for each client. It is also important that they use a fresh, disposal bed covering for each client.

Eliminate Ingrown Pubic Hair – the Brazilian Wax & More

September 08, 2009  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: Brazilian

In part 1 of this article we discussed what is an ingrown pubic hair is, and how to eliminate it should it happen to you.

Here we will now elaborate how not to get ingrown pubic hair at all through some easy hair prevention care.

What is an Ingrown Pubic Hair?

An ingrown pubic hair is one that grows at an abnormal angle and turns back into the skin, causing the formation of a pustule or papule (A small, solid inflammatory elevation of the skin that may or may not contain pus. Also commonly known as “razor bumps”). It can also be a hair that is trapped due to blockage at the hair follicle level.

How to Prevent it!

To achieve the “bald look” (or more glamorously known as the Hollywood or Brazilian look) you will have to either (a) shave, (b) be waxed, (c) be “halawa-ed” – a sugar based hair removing technique, (d) depilatory cream, or (e) be Indian threaded. It can be safely assumed that if you are waxed, halawa-ed, or threaded, you are using a professional.

You can wax yourself, but certainly not in all the hard to reach places. If you are using a professional, you should exfoliate first. This will remove the dead skin cells that can interfere with the complete hair removal, and cause some ingrown problems.

After the professional treatment you must insist on the use of disinfecting solution and moisturizing cream applied after treatment. This should insure the pores stay open and soften the remaining hair enough to find its way out. It is an extra expense, but well worth the investment.

For those who chose to shave

You obviously have a choice of electric razor or blade. In today’s marketplace you find acceptable choices for both, but the electric razor is superior, and the re-grown hair is softer and less likely to grow inward. Shave in the direction of the hair growth, not against it.

As a preparation, always exfoliate with a hot towel compress, and follow that by a gentle scrub with a loofa (an Egyptian aquatic sponge-like plant that is excellent for skin exfoliation), with warm soapy water. After drying, use the electric razor in short strokes, not pulling back the skin too much, and shave towards, not against the natural hair growth.

The normal razor is less complicated, and one should shave in the shower, where the skin has been softened by constant hot water.

Use a non-scented shaving cream or gel (King of Shaves is an excellent choice, as it has both T-Tree Oil and Aloe Vera) and as above, shave in the direction of the natural hair growth. When you are finished, apply a similar moisturizing lotion, such as suggested above with electric razor. Obviously, the hard to reach places are just that. Be careful.

The last choice are the depilatory creams. Do a patch test on some other place of your body to see if you react well to these chemicals.

These creams usually contain two chemicals (sodium thioglycolate and calcium thioglycolate) that do a good job at dissolving keratin (the material that makes up your hair).

However, they are strong chemicals and can cause irritation, so you must make sure you tolerate them.

Following these few suggestions you will prevent the formation of ingrown pubic hair, and be a smooth as you in such a private place as the pubic area.
